Ghanim’s speech, prepared for the opening of the 2nd Marrakesh Parliamentary Economic Forum for the Euro-Mediterranean and Gulf Region, was read by the head of the Qatari delegation, Abdullah Nasser al-Sabii. In his speech, Ghanim said, “Israel is waging a brutal war in Gaza and has left behind an estimated 40,000 dead and over 80,000 wounded, a third of whom are women, children and the elderly.”
Emphasizing that the war has completely destroyed the infrastructure in Gaza and made the humanitarian situation unbearable, Ganim said, “Everything that is happening in Gaza is happening under the eyes of all international humanitarian aid and human rights organizations. These organizations are completely silent about what Israel is doing.”
Qatar supports the right of the Palestinian people to live in dignity on their own land and to establish an independent state within the 1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital, Ghanim said.
