Binali Yildirim: “People’s Power Defeated Tank’s Power”
Binali Yıldırım came to Sakarya for the July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day event. The program, held at the Orhangazi Cultural Center in Adapazarı, began with a moment of silence and the reading of the National Anthem. The program continued with the recitation of the Quran and a video showing on July 15.
Taking the floor, Turkey’s 27th and last Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım explained what happened during the treacherous coup attempt by members of the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO) on July 15, 2016. Yıldırım deciphered that night by saying, “That night, the power of “The people and God defeated the power of the tank.”
Recalling that 8 years have passed since the coup attempt, Yıldırım said, “8 years is not a short time, but that night is as fresh in our minds as it is today. That night, unfortunately, terrorists disguised as soldiers did not hesitate to seize the weapons, tanks, rifles, and planes entrusted to them by the nation and turn them against the nation once again.”
