In an official statement from the governor’s office, it was reported that as a result of inspections carried out on social media platforms in Sivas, the Provincial Police Department Cyber Crime Prevention Department teams made an important discovery. According to the information obtained, it was determined that the person named BG made posts that promoted drugs and insulted the President and religious values.
Following these findings, teams from the Anti-Narcotics and Security Branch Directorate carried out a rapid operation and detained BG. Following the completion of procedures at the police station, BG was referred to the courthouse.
Considering the seriousness of BG’s posts, the court ruled for his arrest. This situation once again demonstrates the importance of monitoring social media and implementing laws.
Authorities stressed that controls on social media will continue to prevent similar incidents.
