Awareness Raising Event in Atatürk Square
At the event held in Atatürk Square, association members decorated the area with Turkish and Palestinian flags. Coffins, shrouds, toys, shoes and dresses were displayed symbolically at the event area. Cansuyu Association Tekirdağ Branch President Murat VakitciIn his statement to members of the press, he emphasized that they aimed to create social awareness against the genocide carried out by Israel in Gaza.
Vakitçi stated that they wanted to announce the cruelty in Gaza to the whole world and said, “Our aim here is to ensure that everyone and every segment of society sees, hears and knows about this incident.” The association president invited all citizens to boycott the cruelty that Israel is implementing in Gaza.
Stating that they will not remain silent against the human tragedy, Vakitçi said, “Boycott is our greatest weapon and we expressed it in the strongest way. Children, young people, women, everyone came and visited the square. If we have managed to make “Even one person understands the genocide and perceives the boycott, this is a great gain.”
Vakitçi continued his words by saying, “We will show our friends and foes that we stand against the oppressor and on the side of the oppressed, first with ourselves, then with our lives in our homes and the products we use.”
After the speech, the association members in the area carried banners and signs to explain Israel’s crimes against humanity in Gaza. The event was held by Ergene District Governor Kadir Duman, Corlu National Education Director Huseyin Erdogan, Corlu District Mufti Nedim Bakir, Saadet Party Tekirdağ Provincial Chairman Halil Ibrahim Cardand was visited by many citizens.
