Attack Incident at Damascus Gate
The Israeli Police Spokesperson made a written statement about an attack that took place around the Damascus Gate in the historical Old City of Jerusalem. According to the statement, a person posed a serious danger to the police officer by attacking him with a cutting tool from his neck. As a result of this attack, the police officer was slightly injured.
It was stated that the attacker was immediately neutralized and martyred by the security forces at the scene. No official information has been given yet about the identity of the suspect.
Damascus Gate has an important position as one of the main entrances to Masjid al-Aqsa. It was noted that following this incident, security measures in the region were increased and entrances to the Masjid al-Aqsa were temporarily blocked.
