Kula badminton team participated in the Badminton Turkey Championship held in Çorum and achieved their best result in their history by making it to the last 8. The little athletes under the management of Coach Turhan Güney had earned the right to participate in the championship in Çorum with the successful results they achieved in the 9-11 age Provincial Championship held in Manisa.
In the championship held in Çorum between June 26-30, athletes from Kula competed among 256 girls and 256 boys. They achieved great success by making it to the last 32 in the under 11 girls’ and under boys’ singles categories and to the last 8 in the under 9 girls’ doubles category. Among the students who won were names such as Süleyman Erdur, Rabianur Karakoç, Betül Nisa Malak, Zeynep Alya Özkara, Elif Karakuş, Batuhan Kapucu, Umutcan Yurt, Fatih Ersöz.
While preparing for the tournament, Coach Turhan Güney and Assistant Coach Hatice Şizen Kanlı thanked Kula Municipality, Kula District Governorship, Kula District National Education Directorate and Kula tradesmen for their support.
