Assistant High School Principal Loses Life in Armed Attack in Kocaeli
In Kocaeli, Fevzi Çakmak Anatolian High School Vice Principal Mahir Çoğaç lost his life in a gun attack in his car. The incident took place on Wednesday, June 26 at around 09:00 on Fatih Street in Çayırova Neighborhood. Mahir Çoğaç was shot by an unidentified assailant as he left his house and got into his car. Cogac, who lost his life at the scene, was identified as the murderer by 17-year-old DG.
Status of the Captured Suspects
Kocaeli Police Department teams launched a large-scale investigation and continued their work to catch the suspects involved in the incident. As a result of the operations, 11 suspects were taken into custody. Eight of the suspects who were referred to the courthouse with a request for arrest were arrested, while three were released on probation. Among the suspects taken into custody, DG (17), BG (20), OD (18), HZ (22), EK (32), M.Ç. (27), LA (44), BC (24), AH (53), EB (39) and T.Ö. (33) were referred to judicial authorities after their procedures at the police station were completed.
