In the sad incident that took place in Ödemiş district of Izmir, the events that took place during the armed fight that broke out in a soup restaurant caused outrage in the city.
In the incident, as a result of an argument at the soup restaurant, Muhammet G. (24) opened fire with a gun. As a result of the armed attack, Serhat Çizme (30) lost his life, while his brother Sercan Çizme (26) and HB, one of the other customers, were injured.
The incident took place at the soup shop on Mithatpaşa Street in Umurbey District, around 03:00. The argument that started between Muhammet G. and Serhat Çizme quickly turned into a fight. As the fight intensified, Muhammet G. took out his gun and shot Serhat and Sercan Çizme. As a result of this attack, two brothers and another customer were injured.
Following the incident, 112 Emergency Health and police teams were dispatched to the scene upon notice. The injured were taken to Ödemiş State Hospital and received treatment. Unfortunately, Serhat Çizme could not be saved despite all the interventions. The treatment of the other injured continues.
After the incident, police teams detained the suspect Muhammet G. and started the investigation.
