Tourism paradise Antalya welcomes millions of visitors every year with its 640-kilometer coastline and 650,000-bed capacity. The city’s magnificent beaches and bays are among the indispensable destinations for holidaymakers.

Antalya tops the list with 233 of the 567 blue flag beaches and businesses in Turkey. Thanks to this, the cleanliness of the city’s sea and coasts is meticulously maintained.

Marine and Coastal Cleanliness Controls

Deniz ve Kıyı Temizliği Kontrolleri

Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Marine and Coastal Management Branch Directorate teams carry out cleaning inspections every morning at points of intense interest for holidaymakers and locals. Bays, coastlines and islands are regularly cleaned with a sea sweeper. In this way, solid waste accumulated on the sea surface is collected and the environment is protected.

During the sea cleaning process, the waste that some boats and ships leave in the sea is also closely monitored. Environmental pollution is minimized by instant interventions through notifications or electronic monitoring systems. Analysis and Punishment Practices

Analiz ve Ceza Uygulamaları

Sea water quality is analyzed in a laboratory environment by regularly taking samples from 81 different points both on the shore and offshore. The cleanliness of sea water is kept under control by constantly monitoring the analysis results.

The environmental health of blue flag beaches continues to be protected with sea cleaning campaigns organized every year in Antalya. The majority of the marine litter physically collected in the city consists of plastic waste. The aim is to increase environmental awareness by imposing serious fines on marine vessels that behave in a manner that harms the environment.
