AK Party Central Decision and Executive Board Member Mahir Ünal organized a celebration by circumcising 300 earthquake victim children for his son Mehmet Selçuk Ünal in his hometown, Elbistan district of Kahramanmaraş.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan also called in to the circumcision ceremony and conveyed his love to the children. Kahramanmaraş Governor Mükerrem Ünlüer, Konya Governor Vahdettin Özkan, AK Party Group Deputy Chairman Bahadır Yenişehirlioğlu, members of parliament, Elbistan Mayor Erkan Gürbüz, former Minister of Health Recep Akdağ, former Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yıldız and many institution managers, representatives of political parties and civil society organizations and citizens attended the event, which saw intense participation.
A Fun Day Offered to Children
Mahir Ünal, who gave a speech at the festival that started with a Janissary band show, stated that the aim of the event organized for earthquake victims was to provide an enjoyable day for children. Ünal called for support for AFAD’s earthquake aid accounts and expressed his gratitude to the participants.
Mahir Ünal called President Erdoğan on the phone during the circumcision ceremony and shared the event. Erdoğan also conveyed his love to the children and did not refrain from praying for them.
President Erdogan’s Message
President Erdoğan said the following in a telephone conversation: “Dear children of Kahramanmaraş, our families. Today, I greet you with my most heartfelt feelings at the circumcision ceremony of approximately 300 of our children and kiss your eyes. I pray to God that the circumcision ceremony will be a blessing for all families and I am excited to have performed a circumcision of our beloved prophet in such a beautiful ceremony.”
A Day Full of Fun Activities
At the circumcision feast, children had fun with various activities in the playgrounds prepared for them. Having spent a day full of Janissary band shows, games with animators and surprise gifts, the children completed the event with happy memories.
