17 clubs and 520 athletes participated in the folk dance group competitions held in Adıyaman. Folklorists, who provided an unforgettable day to the audience with colorful and enthusiastic shows, reflected the rich culture of Anatolia with their dances accompanied by music. The contestants competed fiercely for the championship with the skills they displayed on stage.
Provincial Director of Youth and Sports, Fikret Keleş, made the opening speech of the program and said:
“Folk dance teams from all over Turkey reflect our culture, weddings, joys and sorrows in the most beautiful way and pass them on to future generations. Thanks to the devoted work of our trainers, we continue to pass on this important cultural heritage to our youth. Thanks to this organization, which can define Adıyaman as the cultural capital, thousands of our youth had the opportunity to know our city closely.”
