A Child Became a Martyr in the Gaza Strip as a Result of Malnutrition and Lack of Treatment
According to the official news agency of Palestine, WAFA, a young girl, Yakin al-Estal, died due to malnutrition and lack of treatment in the Gaza Strip. With Estal’s death, the number of martyrs in Gaza due to malnutrition increased to 37 people, including children.
Many local activists said, “Child Estal breathed his last while he was in the hospital waiting for someone to take action to save his life.” He shared the images of the child on his social media accounts with his statements.
As a result of occupying Israel’s restrictions and attacks that violate international laws, Palestinians living in Gaza, especially in the northern regions, face serious food, water and medicine shortages. The media office of the government in Gaza announced in a statement on June 3 that 3,500 children in the region were facing death due to hunger.
In the written statement made by the media office on June 17, it was stated that Israel and the US administration used humanitarian aid and food issues as a tool of political pressure against civilians in the Gaza Strip, deepened hunger and deliberately aggravated the humanitarian situation.
