Located between the borders of Van, Siirt and Şırnak, Masiro Canyon offers a unique escape point for nature lovers who want to cool off during the summer months. This magnificent canyon, located 125 kilometers from Van, fascinates its visitors with its cool waters, lush vegetation and clean air.

The canyon covers an area of ​​12 kilometers extending between Van’s Çatak district, Siirt’s Pervari and Şırnak’s Beytüşşebap districts. The clear and cold water flowing here spreads coolness around, allowing visitors to escape the summer heat. After obtaining transportation, visitors reach the canyon by walking through paths with lush green trees and rich flora. During this walk, nature lovers who enjoy the clean and cool air have the opportunity to watch the natural beauties of the canyon accompanied by bird chirping.

The pleasure of spending time in nature is further enhanced by the opportunity to dive into the cool waters of the canyon between steep rocks.

“This is the first time I see such beauty”

Dicle Akıncı, who came to the canyon with her friends, stated that the natural beauties they encountered here deeply affected them. Stating that the canyon is a perfect route to cool off in the summer months when hot weather is effective, Akıncı said:

  • “This place definitely needs to be discovered. Nature has a unique power. We made a difficult walk through mountainous and forested areas to see this place.”
  • “At the end of the walk, we came across a natural wonder. We have visited many places before, but this is the first time I have seen such beauty.”
  • “We are happy to have the opportunity to see the magnificent places in this geography. The weather is very hot and muggy. We enjoyed the clean and cool water with our friends. It is one of the places everyone should see.”

“We enjoy the coolness by entering the water in the canyon”

Vadi Nature Sports Club member Hüseyin Demez expressed his efforts to promote the natural beauties of the region through trips. Stating that they came to the canyon with a group of 16 people, Demez said:

  • “As the water flow increases in spring, we have the opportunity to watch the canyon from the top. In these seasons, we can swim in the canyon.”
  • “It is approximately 12 kilometers long. We walk in hot weather and enjoy the coolness by swimming in the canyon.”

Eyüp Özden said, “We came here to swim and cool off. The natural beauty and fresh water of the canyon are very nice. We rest in the forest areas.” He shared his feelings and thoughts with his words. Yusuf Tarlan, who came to the canyon for the first time, said, “I liked this place very much. We went into the water because the weather was very hot. Since the water is not deep, you can swim easily. I loved the view, I am thinking of coming again.” He emphasized the fascinating atmosphere of the canyon.
