Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi: Haksızlıkların Karşısında Bir Mücadeleci

Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi, who has made it her mission to be the voice of those who are treated unfairly, has tackled many social issues in her 26 years of life. Eygi, who fights for the protection of black people, Rohingya Muslims and nature, came to the fore in the pro-Palestinian demonstrations held at the University of Washington and shouted out the oppression suffered by the Palestinian people. Eygi, who stood out with his courage and determination during these actions, was unfortunately martyred by Israeli soldiers in the West Bank where he went to support the Palestinians.

In his statement to AA correspondent, Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi’s father, Mehmet Suat Eygi, expressed his pride in his daughter’s honorable life through tears. Emphasizing that his daughter’s helpfulness was towards everyone, regardless of religion, language and race, Eygi said, “In her last journey to Didim, everyone supported her, regardless of political party. His daughter, who lived a life beyond politics, brought people together on her last journey. “I think he was sent off as he lived.” he said

Eygi stated that the state supported them from the first moment and said, “Our state had great help and interest at every stage. “We continue to feel the support of our state in the legal process even after the burial.” he said

Stating that Ayşenur had a rebellious character, Eygi said, “The reason she was rebellious was her stance against injustice. He would help everyone, regardless of language, religion, race, gender or political opinion. He would stop at nothing to help; He could go anywhere in the world. “While young people of every age were pursuing make-up and fashion, Ayşe was defending human rights.” he said

Father Eygi described the emotions he felt when his daughter announced her decision to go to the West Bank to him: “Ayşe told me that she wanted to go to Palestine. I tried for months to make him give up, but he did not give up in our conversations every day. If you’re going to go, girl, I said go in February or March; I couldn’t achieve this either. Finally he left. I said to him, ‘Promise me that you will return at the slightest moment of danger.’ He went to Jordan, Jerusalem and Ramallah, but never spoke of danger. “It didn’t turn, I couldn’t turn it.”

Eygi stated that he tried to convince him during a conversation in Seattle and said, “You will go to a very dangerous place, I told you not to go.” But he replied, ‘I will go, father, people need to hear what is happening there.’ I said, ‘Either a bullet comes, an accident bullet comes and you die.’ And he said, ‘If my death will be of any use, I’m willing, father.'” He expressed it as follows:
