Aid Expedition from IHH to Sudan
In his statement at the ceremony, Yakup Alaca, Press Officer of the Human Rights and Freedoms (IHH) Humanitarian Aid Foundation’s Kilis Logistics Center, stated that the aid was prepared to alleviate the difficulties experienced by the Sudanese people. Alaca thanked all the philanthropists who supported the aid campaign and said the following:
“The civil war in Sudan, which has been going on for more than a year, has caused 25 million people to leave their homes. As a result of the effects of this war, more than 25 million people, including 9 million children, are in need of urgent assistance. As IHH, we continue our efforts to deliver aid to those in need in the region. As Kilis Humanitarian Aid Foundation, we plan to send 50 containers of humanitarian aid materials to Sudan. We are sending these 50 containers containing food, hygiene and shelter materials from Kilis with trucks, through the aid ship that will set out in cooperation with IHH and the Kuwait-based KSR institution. “We also aim to deliver a total of 150 containers of aid to the people of Sudan, including 100 containers of aid from surrounding provinces.”
After Alaca’s speech, the trucks loaded with aid materials were sent to Mersin Port to be sent to Sudan. This aid expedition is of great importance as an example of solidarity against the difficulties experienced by the Sudanese people.
