Diplomatic Talks Between Egypt and Kuwait
According to the latest statement made by the Egyptian Presidency, President Abdel Fattah Sisi met with Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Abdullah Ali al-Yahya in the capital Cairo. In this important meeting, the development of bilateral relations between Egypt and Kuwait in all fields, review of the regional situation and ways to develop joint action as Arab countries to combat current challenges were discussed.
President Sisi, whose views were included in the statement, said, “Egypt, in cooperation and partnership with Qatar and the USA, will continue efforts to increase calm in Gaza by reaching an immediate ceasefire agreement. This will allow humanitarian aid to reach the people of Gaza and ensure that regional tensions are stopped.” he said It was emphasized that Kuwaiti Minister al-Yahya appreciated Egypt’s “efforts to ensure stability in the region.”
During their meeting, Sisi and al-Yahya particularly emphasized “the need for all parties to assume their responsibilities in order to stop the bloodshed in the region and prevent the spread of conflicts.”
Egypt-Kuwait Joint Committee Meeting
On the other hand, according to another statement made by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdulati, together with his Kuwaiti counterpart al-Yahya, chaired the activities of the 13th session of the Egypt-Kuwait Joint Committee. The Egyptian Minister described the security of the Gulf region as “an integral part of his country’s national security” and expressed his desire to increase joint cooperation in this field.
Abdulati also noted Kuwait’s goals to increase its investments in Egypt. Egypt-Kuwait joint committee meetings ended with the signing of 10 memorandums of understanding in various fields such as tourism, construction, planning and development, and development of industrial exports, as well as cooperation between the diplomatic institutions of the two countries.
