Reaction from Ömer Çelik to TİP Chairman Erkan Baş
AK Party Spokesperson and Deputy Chairman Ömer Çelik, in his statement on the social media platform, responded harshly to TİP Chairman Erkan Baş’s statements against President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Çelik said, “TİP Chairman Erkan Baş’s words towards our President are an exact copy of the language used by the fascists in Europe against our President.”He continued his words by saying:
“These statements have no meaning other than acting as a translator for the fascists of Europe. Using the statements of the fascists in Europe by cut-copy-paste method is an extremely low level in political terms. They target the Presidency, which has been elected many times through democratic elections and with the clear support of the national will, with such statements.” “is the clearest example of hosting towards democracy and the people,”he said
Çelik also said, “He made a statement that encouraged European fascists to be hostile to democracy by naming their parties ‘populist’. In this context, we repeat here the same answer we gave to European fascists.”he said
These statements of Çelik came at a time when political debates in Turkey were heating up and had a wide public response.
