European Arrest Warrant Issued for Ukrainian Suspect in Nord Stream Pipeline Sabotage
A European arrest warrant has been issued for a Ukrainian man believed to be involved in the explosion of the Nord Stream pipeline nearly two years ago, as announced by Polish prosecutors on Wednesday. The incident, which occurred in September 2022, involved the sabotage of the Nord Stream pipelines that were crucial for transporting Russian gas to Europe, and has since evolved into one of the central enigmas surrounding the ongoing war in Ukraine.
This act of sabotage has sparked a flurry of speculation and accusations among various nations. However, concrete information has been sparse until this latest development. The Polish prosecutor’s office revealed that it received the warrant from Germany back in June, targeting a suspect who was residing in Poland at that time.
The individual in question has been identified only as Volodymyr Z., in compliance with German privacy regulations. According to Anna Adamiak, a spokesperson for the prosecutor’s office in Warsaw, the suspect managed to leave Poland before local authorities could apprehend him.

The sabotage was initially detected on September 26, 2022, when a massive plume of bubbles was observed on the surface of the Baltic Sea, within international waters between Denmark and Sweden.
