In her statement to the press, Pentagon Deputy Spokesperson Sabrina Singh shared the latest developments regarding the US’s humanitarian aid efforts in Gaza after the cancellation of the Joint Coastal Logistics Mechanism (JLOTS) temporary port project. Singh said, “Going back to our humanitarian aid work in Gaza, the ship named MV Cape Trinity successfully completed the unloading of approximately 6 million pounds (more than 2,721 tons) of humanitarian aid to Ashdod (Israel’s Port of Ashdod).” he said

Stating that Cape Trinity was preparing for its return journey to Texas after the cancellation of the JLOTS project, which could not be put into operation despite weeks of intense work, Singh emphasized that with the latest aid, the amount of aid delivered to Gaza “through “sea and air corridors” exceeded 17 thousand 236 tons.

“This effort represents the highest volume of humanitarian assistance the US military has ever undertaken in the Middle East region,” Singh said. he added. The aid transfer mentioned by the Deputy Spokesperson covers some of the humanitarian aid materials planned to be distributed in Gaza within the framework of the JLOTS project and previously delivered to Southern Cyprus.

Stating that the temporary port project will be completely completed with the return of the ship named Cape Trinity to the USA, Singh stated that all parts of JLOTS will return to the USA together with this ship. Following the failed JLOTS project, the aid materials delivered by the USA through Ashdod Port will reach the needy Palestinian people in Gaza depending on Israel’s attitude in the coming period.
