Expropriation Decision from the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources
The General Directorate of Mining and Petroleum Affairs (MAPEG) of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources has made an important decision regarding expropriation. This decision came into force after being published in the Official Gazette.
MAPEG, in line with the application of Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO), as a result of the evaluations made in the oil exploration license area with sheet number AR/TPO/K/M46-a1, a2, located within the borders of Batman and Diyarbakır provinces, for the location area and road of the Kayıköy-1 well. initiated the necessary expropriation process.
In this context, the plot number 14,724, parcel number 1, block 210, Diktepe (Hıncıkan) village, Batman province, Merkez district, which was not possible to be purchased by agreement due to the land owners demanding a price above the market price, and for which an urgent seizure decision was made by the Batman 2nd Civil Court of First Instance. It was decided to expropriate 45 square meters of it.
This is considered an important step taken to accelerate oil exploration in the region and increase energy production.
