Sacrificial Meat Distribution in Lebanon

Lübnan'da Kurban Eti Dağıtımı

A total of 76,500 families will be distributed sacrificial meat in two-kilo packages through local organizations to all parts of the country, including the southern and northern regions of Lebanon, the capital Beirut and the Bekaa region. It is expected that 500,000 people will benefit from this distribution program. Thus, one of the largest aid efforts to be carried out simultaneously in Lebanon and benefiting a wide range of people will be realized.

Murat Yılmaz, the Chairman of the Orphan Foundation, stated to the Anadolu Agency (AA) correspondent that IHH, the Orphan Foundation, the Sadakataşı Association and the Just Human International Aid Association have been actively working in Lebanon for many years. He stated that they decided to carry out a large aid effort for Lebanon during the last Eid al-Adha period. He stated that within this framework, they sacrificed 10,200 shares of animal meat in India during the Eid al-Adha and delivered this meat to Lebanon.

Yilmaz said, “These sacrifices donated by philanthropists during the Eid al-Adha period were prepared as a total of 153 tons of boneless meat. We will distribute this meat to a total of 76,500 families. We hope that approximately 10% of Lebanon, that “This is 500 thousand of our brothers, will benefit from this sacrifice meat distribution, which is one of the largest single aids to be made from Turkey.”

Emphasizing that sacrificial meat will be distributed to various groups such as Palestinians, Syrians and Maronites, especially in the southern and northern regions of the country, the capital Beirut and the Bekaa region, through sister Lebanese civil society organizations, Yilmaz said, “As Turkish NGOs, we have been providing aid to Lebanon since October 7, when the attacks of the occupying Israel on the Gaza Strip began.”

Yilmaz stated that food, hot meals, shelter and blanket support were provided to approximately 50 thousand people who had to migrate, especially from cities such as Sur and Saida in the south of the country, and that fire and ambulance vehicles, as well as health and consumables, were also continuing to be delivered. “As Turkey and Turkish NGOs, we will continue to stand by our brothers in Lebanon,” he said.

Yilmaz reported that three of the five batches of sacrificial meat have reached Lebanon so far, and that they expect the remaining two batches to arrive soon. Ahmed Muhammed Keyd, an official from the Lebanese Humanitarian Aid and Development Association, one of the local organizations that will assist in the distribution of sacrificial meat, stated that they received the frozen meat sent by Turkish NGOs, and thanked the Turkish people and NGOs for their support.

Ahmed Lakis, an official of the Nahda Islamic Charity Organization in Jubeil, Lebanon, expressed his gratitude for the sacrificial meat sent by Turkish NGOs to be distributed to those in need.
