According to a report in the Jerusalem Post, Israel’s domestic intelligence agency, Shin-Bet (Shabak), warned the army and police in advance about an attack on the village of Cit. About half an hour before the attack, Shabak informed the authorities that a group of Israelis occupying Palestinian land in the illegal settlement of Yitzar were preparing for an attack in the area. However, despite this critical intelligence, the Israeli army reportedly did not take any measures to prevent the attack on the village of Cit.

The report states that after the attack began, the Israeli army sent only a small number of soldiers to the village of Cit, which was insufficient to effectively prevent the attack. Interestingly, it was also noted that the Israeli soldiers did not detail any of the approximately 100 attackers who attacked the village. It is reported that only four of these attackers were detained based on intelligence provided by Shin-Bet in the following days.

On August 15, a group of Israelis occupying Palestinian lands carried out a bloody attack on the village of Cit in the West Bank city of Qalqilya. In this attack, one Palestinian was killed, another was seriously injured, and four Palestinian houses and six vehicles were set on fire. The report also states that the Israeli army admitted, as a result of the investigation it conducted, that it “failed” to prevent the attacks on the village of Cit.
