According to information from Walla news site based on unnamed sources close to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Netanyahu’s Private Secretary Yossi Shelley recently applied to the Shin Bet Personal Security Advisory Committee to increase the level of security around Yair Netanyahu.
Netanyahu has demanded that security measures be tightened for his son Yair, concerned about the negative impact that the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh by Iran and its agents in Tehran could have on Israeli figures and targets abroad.
The Advisory Committee stated that relying solely on instincts would not be enough to increase security measures, but also that concrete intelligence findings that would require tightening security should be presented. According to Walla, Yair Netanyahu, who has been protected by the Israeli General Security Service (Shin Bet) since April 2023, has an annual living cost of around 2.5 million shekels (about $680,000) in Miami.
In addition, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, who was assassinated in Tehran on July 31, 2023, faced harassment that Israel was behind this assassination carried out by Iran and Hamas.
