New Record in Passenger Numbers at ISG Airport
Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport (İSG) achieved remarkable success with the flights it carried out on August 9. According to the official statement made by the airport, the number of arriving passengers on domestic lines was recorded as 31,797 and the number of departing passengers was 30,921. . On international lines, the number of arriving passengers was 35,198 and the number of departing passengers was 36,288. According to this data, a total of 134,204 passengers used the airport.
The previous record was set on July 13 with 133,455 passengers and 719 flights. This situation once again reveals the importance of OSH in Turkey’s air traffic.
Managed by Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB), OSH ranked among the 10 busiest airports in Europe for the first half of the year, according to the June air traffic report released by Airports Council International (ACI Europe). According to the end-June figures published by ACI, the number of passengers using OSH in the first six months of the year was determined as 19,835,915, a 16.6% increase compared to the same period of the previous year.
ISG has a wide connection network with a total of 165 destinations, serving 40 domestic and 125 international destinations in 55 different countries. The airport continues its efforts to expand its global transportation network by opening 9 new international lines since the beginning of the year.
