Successful Counter-Terror Operation in Hakkari: Gürz-6
Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced in a statement he made on his social media account that Gendarmerie General Commander General Arif Çetin and other high-level officials from the Ankara Gendarmerie Operation Center were following and directing the “Gürz-6” operation on a daily basis. Yerlikaya stated that as a result of the intelligence work carried out by the Hakkari Provincial Gendarmerie Command under the coordination of the Gendarmerie General Command Intelligence Directorate and the TEM Department Presidency, under the command and guidance of the Public Security Corps Command, 3 terrorists, 1 dead and 2 alive, were neutralized in an armed conflict that broke out in the operation carried out with the participation of Gendarmerie Special Operations (JÖH) teams in the rural area of Kavaklı district of Hakkari.
Emphasizing that the operation was supported by ATAK helicopters and J-SİHAs, Yerlikaya shared the following information:
- The terrorist who was captured dead:He continued to defy our state and resist our heroic gendarmerie, but he met the end he deserved.
- Two female terrorists waving white flags:It was received safely.
- Orange Category:Hacer Tekin, codenamed Armanç Devrim, who was on the Interior Ministry’s Most Wanted Terrorists List, was neutralized.
- Grey Category:Aysel İnce, codenamed Zin, was neutralized by being persuaded to surrender.
- The so-called Van Province YJA-Star Officer:The surrender of Hebun Hevi, codenamed Adile Zagros Hebun, was also ensured.
Minister Yerlikaya congratulated the gendarmerie personnel who carried out the operation and said, “May God not let you touch any stones. Our nation’s prayers are with you. We will not stop, we will not hesitate until the last terrorist is neutralized. Our fight against “Terrorism will continue with determination and resolution until the last terrorist is neutralized.”
Yerlikaya reported that they determined that a total of 30 security officers and 4 citizens were martyred and 56 security officers and 4 citizens were injured in 15 attacks that the terrorists gave instructions for and personally participated in.
