Russian Ministry of Defense Made a Statement
The Russian Defense Ministry has shared important information about the current military developments. The ministry said, “At 08:00 Moscow time, about 300 soldiers of the 22nd mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, supported by 11 tanks and more than 20 armored combat vehicles, attacked the positions of the troops guarding the State Border of the Russian Federation in the settlements of Nikolayevo-Daryino and Oleshnya in the Kursk region, adjacent to the Russian-Ukrainian border.”
Response Given
The ministry emphasized that the Ukrainian attack was responded to, and provided the following information: “Operational-tactical and attack aviation carried out effective strikes against the Ukrainian army’s manpower and equipment in the Basovka, Zhuravka, Khoten, Yunakovka, Belovody and Hrapovshchyna areas of the Sumy region. “Army aviation is used quite effectively against enemy armored vehicles.”
It was also reported that reserves of the Russian troop group in the Kursk direction were moving towards the conflict zone. As a result of the attack, a total of 16 Ukrainian armored vehicles were destroyed. Among these vehicles:
- 6 tanks
- 2 infantry fighting vehicles
- 4 armored personnel carriers
- 3 Cossack armored fighting vehicles
- 1 engineering demolition vehicle
These developments once again revealed the seriousness of the military situation in the region.
