Tragedy Strikes in Holon, Israel

In a shocking incident early Sunday morning, two individuals lost their lives and two others sustained injuries in Holon, a city located south of Tel Aviv. Authorities are investigating the attack as a likely act of terrorism. The suspect involved in the incident has also been reported dead.

Emergency services were alerted shortly before 7:30 a.m. by Magen David Adom, Israel’s emergency medical service. Upon their arrival, first responders discovered four victims scattered across three different locations within the city.

  • A 70-year-old woman was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. She was found in a nearby park.
  • A man was discovered in serious condition nearby.
  • A second 70-year-old man was located on a street in critical condition.
  • A 26-year-old man was found at the entrance to a bus parking lot, conscious but wounded.

The victims were quickly transported to a hospital suffering from stab wounds, as confirmed by Magen David Adom. Unfortunately, a second victim later succumbed to their injuries, as stated by Peretz Amar, the police chief for the Tel Aviv District, during a press conference.

The police responded promptly, engaging the attacker who was ultimately shot and “neutralized.” According to the Israel Police, the assailant was a resident of the Israeli-occupied West Bank and was in his twenties. The police classified the incident as a “suspected terrorist attack.” Such stabbing incidents have become increasingly frequent in Israel over recent years.

Officials from the Shamir Medical Center later reported that the suspect was admitted to the hospital in critical condition but was later pronounced dead.
