According to information obtained from local sources, US forces transferred 700 terrorists from the Robarya, Rümeylan and Şeddadi bases in the Hasakah region to the Koniko and Ömer oil field bases near the Euphrates River, which is the contact line of the Iranian-backed groups. These terrorists are between the PKK/YPG and the Sanadid forces, which are composed of Arabs.
US forces also directed a military convoy of 70 vehicles from the bases in Hasakah to the Koniko and Omar oil field bases. This convoy includes closed ammunition cases and Humvee-type armored vehicles. In addition, the US transported personnel from Iraq to the Rmeylan base in Hasakah province with four helicopters.
US Military Presence in Syria
With the start of Operation Peace Spring in October 2019, the US began the process of evacuating its bases in the operation area. However, it has prioritized settling around oil fields. Continuing its support for the terrorist organization PKK/YPG, US forces currently host numerous military bases and points in the provinces of Hasakah, Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor, as well as in the regions occupied by the organization.
Washington continues to send reinforcements to military bases and points in oil fields controlled by PKK/YPG terrorists. This situation stands out as an important development affecting the security balance in the region.
