Situation on the Battlefield
While the mobilization efforts have not yet significantly strengthened Ukraine’s forces in combat, several brigades deployed on the battlefield have reported an increase in the number of conscripts joining their ranks in recent weeks. Feedback from Military Units
Nazar Voytenkov, press officer for the 33rd Mechanized Brigade, mentioned that his unit has seen a rise in new recruits this month compared to earlier in the year. He expressed optimism about more soldiers joining their ranks soon.
Lt. Serhiy Skibchyk, press officer of the 65th Brigade, operating in southern Ukraine, acknowledged that while there has been a slight improvement in troop numbers compared to the previous year, the unit still faces shortages. Small groups of conscripts are gradually being integrated into the brigade, but the demand for personnel surpasses the current recruitment rate.
Conscription Figures
The Ukrainian authorities have not disclosed exact conscription numbers, citing confidentiality. However, military experts familiar with the situation estimate that Kyiv has been drafting up to 30,000 individuals per month since May, under a new conscription law. This represents a substantial increase from previous months and is comparable to the recruitment rate of the Russian Army.
