Van is a city where a large portion of its population makes a living from animal husbandry. There are approximately 3.5 million small cattle in the city. These animals usually move to the plateaus in the spring and live in these areas throughout the summer.
The residents of Han Neighborhood, which is affiliated with Muradiye district, feed their animals by taking them out to pasture and grazing them there. An interesting natural cycle also occurs during this process. Birds land on the animals grazing in the pasture and feed themselves by eating the parasites and insects on the animals.
Birds, especially starlings, jackdaws and magpies, prey on insects on sheep and goats, and the animals remain motionless as the birds land on them, giving the birds more opportunities to catch insects.
This natural balance helps animals stay healthy and feeds birds. When captured on camera, these special moments reveal the wonders of nature to people.
