Wildfires Threaten California
The wildfires, which started in northern California, have spread to an area of 1,416 square kilometers, affecting Butte, Plumas, Shasta and Tehama counties. Fire crews reported that 66 structures were damaged in the fire, making it the seventh largest fire in the state’s history.
2,500 People Fight Fire
California Governor Gavin Newsom said in a statement regarding the fire, “The Park fire, one of the largest fires in California history, continues to burn in the Butte area. Everyone fighting the Park fire in Butte and Tehama counties is working with great dedication.” “We are grateful to all the crews and organizations working around the clock to provide support to the communities affected by the fire. More than 2,500 personnel are working hard to bring the fire under control, providing watchdog duties and doing the best they can.”
