Anatolian Youth Association (AGD) Edirne Branch Event
Children and their families came together in Selimiye Square at an event organized by the Anatolian Youth Association (AGD) Edirne Branch. The children, who were adorned with Turkish and Palestinian flags, came together with slogans.
Speaking at the event, Emirhan Demir from AGD Edirne summer events stated that approximately 50 thousand people, 16 thousand of whom were children, lost their lives in Israel’s attacks on Palestine.
Demir said, “We are not here to play games, but to spoil the game. As Turkey, we must support Palestine. The children of Gaza must receive support just like our children.”
In the statement, he also stated that they are against the US bases in Turkey and that they oppose this situation. “We should not be a party to this sin as a country,” said Demir, continuing his words as follows: “If the people living there were your children, wouldn’t you do everything you could? Now is the time to take action “We will not support the tyrants. We must come together for the freedom of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.”
The event, attended by AGD Edirne Branch President Abdülhamit İriş, representatives of non-governmental organizations and citizens, ended with prayers.
