Galatasaray, who made the transfer of right-back Elias Jelert, had struggled for a long time for Guela Doue before the Danish player. An agreement was reached on everything for the Doue transfer, but the signatures were not made at the last minute.
The reason for the transfer going down the drain was the special clauses that Guela Doue’s agent wanted to put in the contract. Doue’s agent wanted to include a unilateral termination right in the contract if the delay in payments to the player exceeded 15 days. In addition, the agent stipulated that the club’s termination right in the event of an injury exceeding 6 months should not be included in the contract.
Galatasaray reached an agreement with Rennes for the transfer of Guela Doue for 6 million euros plus bonuses, and agreed on a 4-year contract with the player for 1.2 million euros per year.
