“Dünya Gıda Güvenliği” Raporu Açıklandı

The results of the “World Food Security” report prepared by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), World Food Program (WFP), International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and World Health Organization ( WHO) has been announced. According to the report, it was stated that 713 to 757 million people were malnourished and an average of 733 million people were struggling with hunger worldwide last year.

Another important point highlighted in the report is that 1 in 11 people worldwide face hunger. Worryingly, it was stated that food insecurity and malnutrition are still widespread around the world.

The report shared information that hunger levels will increase in the western Asian continent, the Caribbean and southern Africa between 2022 and 2023. It also stated that the proportion of the population struggling with hunger increased in Africa, decreased in South America and remained stable in Asia. .

Accordingly, it was predicted that approximately 582 million people will be chronically undernourished in 2030, and almost half of these people will be living in Africa. Another point that draws attention in the report is that 2.33 billion people worldwide will face moderate or severe food insecurity in 2023, and more than 864 million of them will occasionally go a whole day or longer without food.
