According to Japanese state television NHK, the Japanese government will impose sanctions on four Israelis involved in the violence in the West Bank. The statement said the actions were inhumane and unacceptable, and that the sanctions, which included freezing the assets of the four Israelis, were approved.
Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi Yoshimasa said in a statement after the cabinet meeting that the Israelis’ usurpation of Palestinian lands in the West Bank was against international law and undermined the two-state solution. Drawing attention to the increasing Israeli usurpation of Palestinian lands, Hayashi stressed that Japan would cooperate with the international community to fully implement sanctions and stop the usurpation.
