Head of Hamas’ National Relations Office, Husam Bedran, made important statements regarding the meeting of Palestinian groups in Beijing, the capital of China. Bedran emphasized that the meeting held in Beijing is of great importance in terms of Palestine achieving national unity.
Bedran, who stated that China’s efforts in the creation of the declaration were greatly appreciated, said that the US, on the other hand, opposed the agreement between the Palestinian factions. Bedran explained that the declaration signed by the Palestinian factions foresaw the establishment of a Palestinian national consensus government that would govern the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank, oversee reconstruction activities and prepare the conditions for elections.
Meeting Hosted by China
China hosted a comprehensive national meeting of Palestinian groups, primarily the Fatah Movement and Hamas, on July 21 and 22. During the meeting, important issues were discussed among the Palestinian groups and a joint statement was agreed upon.
