President Erdoğan’s Statements

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced the purchase of a new natural gas ship that will serve in Turkish waters. Erdoğan, who stated that the ship will set off for Turkey, announced the good news that it will be in Turkey in approximately 2 months. This ship will serve in the Black Sea for 15-20 years and will provide natural gas to 5 million households.

Floating Production, Storage and Discharge Vessel Added to the Fleet

Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar announced that a floating production, storage and discharge (FPSO) vessel, which can be positioned at sea and produce, is planned to be added to the fleet. This vessel will be an important step that will contribute to Turkey’s energy independence.

Seismic Research Vessels

Sismik Araştırma Gemileri

  • Barbaros Hayreddin Pasha:It entered service as Turkey’s first seismic exploration ship in 2012. The ship, which has the ability to examine geological structures under the sea, is currently ready for duty.
  • MTA Oruç Reis: The second seismic research vessel built with domestic resources in Turkey. It has the capacity to conduct deep seismic research with its modern technology equipment.

Drilling Ships

  • Conqueror: Turkey’s first national drilling ship. It attracted attention with its natural gas discovery in the Black Sea and is currently continuing drilling operations in the region.
  • Yavuz: Turkey’s second drilling ship. It has features that allow for simultaneous operations and continues its natural gas exploration activities in the Black Sea.
  • Legal: Turkey’s third drilling ship. It continues its duties in the Sakarya Gas Field.
  • Abdulhamid Khan:The fourth drilling ship to join the fleet in 2022. It continues drilling operations in the Yörükler-1 Well.
