Qassam Mujahideen trapped a group of Israeli infantry soldiers at the mouth of a previously mined tunnel, killing some of them and wounding others, Qassam said in a statement on its Telegram account. The statement noted that the operation was carried out in the Tel es-Sultan neighborhood in the west of Rafah city.
Israel has yet to comment on Qassam’s statement. The Israeli army has refrained from providing detailed information about the armed conflictes it has had with Palestinian armed resistance groups in the Gaza Strip, contenting itself with giving the number of dead and wounded among its own ranks.
