The fire that broke out in the forest areas of Çanakkale spread rapidly due to the effect of the wind. Upon notification, Çanakkale Forestry Regional Directorate teams were immediately dispatched to the region. The intervention launched to control the fire continued on land throughout the night.
Airborne intervention began at first light to combat the fire. Firefighting planes and helicopters provided air support as well as ground-based intervention. The fire was brought under control with coordinated efforts by teams.
