The Israeli Air Force has completed its preliminary investigation into the drone attack on Tel Aviv, which killed one person, according to Israeli army radio. It was reported that airborne radar systems detected the drone but did not classify it as a “threat”. Therefore, the attack sirens were not sounded and the drone was not destroyed.

The Israeli Air Force said the UAV should have been shot down and admitted that the incident was a serious “mistake.” The air unit used in the attack was a long-range drone that flew at low altitude for hours and exploded in Tel Aviv after coming from the sea.

The Israeli army’s failure to point to the Iranian-backed Houthis in Yemen, who claimed responsibility for the attack, was notable. One person was killed and four people were injured by shrapnel and the impact of the explosion in the drone attack near the US Embassy in central Tel Aviv.

The Houthis in Yemen announced that they targeted Tel Aviv with a new UAV called “Jaffa” that radars cannot detect and air defense systems cannot intercept. The Houthis announced that they will continue to target central Israel and that Tel Aviv is a “danger zone.”

The Houthis in Yemen have stated that they have launched attacks with drones and missiles towards Israel in response to its attacks on Gaza in the past and shared images of these attacks.
