UN Spokesperson Stephane Dujarric, answering questions from journalists at his daily press briefing, noted that the distribution of humanitarian aid continues to face challenges due to conflict, fuel restrictions, power outages, lack of public order and the security situation.
Dujarric drew attention to the fact that access to the northern part of the Gaza Valley is particularly difficult and stated that coordination by Israeli authorities is needed for the distribution of aid to this region. Dujarric reported that the occupying Israel allowed only 24 of the 60 previously coordinated humanitarian aid to pass between July 1-16, and emphasized that the UN prevented hundreds of thousands of people in need from receiving aid there.
Dujarric also reported that 750 Palestinians have been displaced in the occupied West Bank this year.
