Pentagon Deputy Spokesperson Sabrina Singh answered the questions that journalists were curious about in detail at the last press conference. Singh, who made important statements regarding the situation of US soldiers in Niger, announced that they had completely withdrawn from the 101st Air Base in the capital Niamey as of July 7.
Noting that the US has around 300 soldiers in Niger, Singh stressed that the remaining personnel will be withdrawn from the country in a safe and orderly manner by September 15. The Niger government announced on March 17 that it was terminating the military cooperation agreement signed with the US 12 years ago and stated that US soldiers must leave the country immediately.
The US, which has approximately 1,000 soldiers in Niger, also has an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) base in the city of Agadez. According to Pentagon Deputy Spokesperson Sabrina Singh, it has been officially announced that the US will completely withdraw from Niger by mid-September.
