Celebration of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day by the Syrian Interim Government

The Syrian Interim Government celebrated the July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day and said, “These dark plans were frustrated in the face of the courage and steadfastness of the Turkish nation, and all segments of the nation have become an insurmountable bulwark to protect democracy, free will and the sovereignty of the country.”

The Syrian Interim Government, established by the opposition, made a written statement on the occasion of the 8th anniversary of the treacherous coup attempt by the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO). The statement, which celebrated July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day, noted the following:

  • “These dark plans were frustrated in the face of the courage and steadfastness of the Turkish nation, and all segments of the nation became an insurmountable bulwark to protect democracy, free will and the sovereignty of the country.”

The statement, which emphasized the “sincere brotherly ties” between the Syrian and Turkish peoples, said, “We will never forget the sacrifices made by the Turkish army and the Syrian National Army in the fight against terrorism and separatist plans in Syrian lands.”

The statement thanked Turkey for its support for the expectations of the Syrian people and included the following assessments:

“We pray to God for mercy on our martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the revolution of freedom and honor in Syria and in the defense of democracy in Turkey. We pray to God Almighty for the continuation of peace, stability and prosperity in Turkey and for “The blessed Syrian revolution to be crowned with victory.”
