Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova made assessments regarding the armed attack on former US President Donald Trump in a statement on the Rossiya-24 state TV channel. Zakharova stated that US President Joe Biden condemned the assassination attempt, and emphasized that such incidents are not only a bitter reflection of the domestic political life of the US, but have also become a “tradition.”
Assassination Attempt Against Trump
Former President Donald Trump, who was running for the presidency of the Republican Party in the United States, was attacked with a gun during a rally in Pennsylvania. Trump was attacked while addressing his supporters and was injured in his right ear. One person died and two people were injured as a result of the attack on Trump, who was reported to be in good health.
The US Secret Service said the attacker fired from a high point outside the rally area and was later neutralized. The FBI described the incident as an assassination attempt and identified the attacker as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks.
