According to the data of Turkey Electricity Transmission Inc., yesterday, the highest daily electricity consumption of all time was realized in our country. A record was broken with a total electricity consumption of 1 million 147 thousand 848 megawatt-hours. The previous highest consumption level was experienced on August 17, 2023 and was recorded as 1 million 132 thousand 567 megawatt-hours.
Daily electricity production was also remarkable. A total of 1,144,454 megawatt-hours of electricity was produced. Natural gas power plants ranked first in production with 20.6 percent, followed by imported coal power plants with 19.8 percent and hydroelectric power plants with dams with 16 percent.
Yesterday, the highest hourly electricity consumption was recorded at 15:00 with 55 thousand 556 megawatt-hours, while the lowest consumption was recorded at 07:00 with 36 thousand 858 megawatt-hours.
In addition, Turkey exported 6,779 megawatt-hours of electricity yesterday, while importing 10,162 megawatt-hours.
