Documents and Procedures According to the Equivalence Procedures Regulation

According to the regulation published in the Official Gazette, certain procedures are applied for equivalence transactions. The documents and details to be taken into consideration within the scope of these procedures are as follows:

1. Application Documents and Identity Verification

  • Domestic citizens can apply with their ID card or national identity card.
  • Foreign nationals can apply to equivalence centers with their application ID.
  • Applications abroad must be made to education counsellors/attaches with a passport or identity document.

2. Equivalence Process and Document Evaluation

The equivalence process is carried out with originals of primary and secondary education level documents. If originals of the documents are not available, certified photocopies can also be accepted.

Level 3 Determination Exam

For those who cannot submit a document, a level of determination exam will be held. According to the results of this exam, the student’s class level will be determined equivalent.

4. Documents Required for Equivalence Process

Those who apply for equivalence must fill out the MEB Equivalence Application Form via the e-Equivalence system and attach the required documents. These documents include identity documents, education documents, and transcripts.

5. Situations in Which Equivalence Will Not Be Requested

  • According to the Turkish Maarif Foundation Law, students coming from schools operating abroad will not be subject to the equivalence process.
  • There will be no need for equivalence for students enrolled in schools in the country.

Equivalence procedures will be completed completely and accurately in line with these specified procedures and documents.
