KARMOL, a joint venture between Karadeniz Holding and Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL), one of the world’s leading shipping companies, is starting the construction of a new Powership. The new ship, set off with a sheet metal cutting ceremony held at Sedef Shipyard, will be the newest and largest member of Karadeniz Holding’s floating power plant fleet.
Karadeniz Holding, which provides energy to countries around the world with its floating power plants, is contributing to sustainable energy production by expanding its Powership fleet. It is stated that the new Powership will have a power of 257 MW and will be equipped with the latest technology engines. In this way, the ship will offer a fast, economical and environmentally friendly energy solution.
Karadeniz Holding Board of Directors Vice President Zeynep Harezi Yılmaz made a statement on the subject, “We started Powership investments in the early 2000s and today we have the world’s largest floating power plant fleet with over 40 Powerships. Our new ship, which was implemented within the scope of the KARMOL project, which we carried out in cooperation with giants of the maritime sector such as MOL, will be completed in 2026. With this ship, we aim to further strengthen our fleet and contribute to the energy needs worldwide.”
With the completion of the construction of the new Powership, the fleet of KARMOL, established in partnership with Karadeniz Holding and MOL, will be further expanded and will contribute to sustainable energy production.
