President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev emphasized that the relations between Azerbaijan and Iran are based on friendship and brotherhood, and stated that these relations have made significant progress in the fields of economy, transportation, energy and humanity in recent years.
Aliyev said that cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran is based on mutual respect and good neighborliness, and that joint projects serve the welfare of the two countries and the development of the region. He expressed his belief that joint efforts will continue to strengthen friendly relations and expand cooperation.
Inviting Massoud Pezeshkian, who was successful in the presidential elections in Iran, to Azerbaijan, Aliyev wished Pezeshkian success and conveyed his best wishes for his activities for the welfare of the Iranian people.
