The Presidential Decree, which envisages changes to the decision on additional customs duties on imports, was published in the Official Gazette and entered into force. According to the declaration, the additional customs duty determined for internal combustion and hybrid passenger cars imported from China were rearranged.
Those with Investment Incentive Certificates Will Be Exempt from Tax
With the decision taken in June, it was decided that an additional customs duty of 40 percent of the import value or 7 thousand dollars/unit, whichever is higher, would be applied to Chinese-origin automobiles. However, with the new regulation, those who import Chinese-origin automobiles by benefiting from customs exemption within the scope of the investment incentive certificate will be exempted from additional financial liability.
- In this context, those who invest in Turkey will be exempt from the relevant additional customs duties and will not face additional costs.
