Bereke stated that Hamas supports a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and is open to any initiative that will realize the demands of the Palestinian people. Responding positively to Egypt and Qatar’s new initiatives for a ceasefire, Hamas conveyed a message of support to the mediators.
Netanyahu and the Ceasefire Issue
Bereke criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s stance against the ceasefire. He emphasized that Netanyahu rejected a permanent ceasefire and pursued an aggressive policy against the Palestinian people. Bereke called on the international community to hold Netanyahu accountable for crimes against humanity.
Prisoner Exchange and Negotiations
It was reported that progress was being made in the negotiations between Israel and Hamas for a prisoner swap. Israel announced that it was positive about Hamas’ demand to end the war.
